Setting Up A Podcast

if you want to setup a podcast your going to need some tools such as an editor and host. you can host yourself but when i tryed using podpress for wordpress i ran into a load of problems so i would chose to use a free online hosst you can pay but you will be fine with free.

1st – Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ this is a fantastic audio editor. you can have multiple traks and do a whole load of effects. one thing youll also need is lame mp3 and install that so you can export in mp3 format.

2nd – http://www.podomatic.com/ podamatic is a all in one free service that hosts video and audio podcasts, post them to itunes and embed the player in to your website. this service is free but offers a paid service with extra features but unless you are a podcaster who needs extra bandwith dont spend your money on this. buy a decent mic.

3rd – your going to need a decent mic. pros may use £100 or $100 mics but mine was 40 and is very decent. cheap mics i reccormend are the blue snowflake or samson go mic.

Setting Up A Media centre

if you have an old laptop or pc that you replaced and your not shore what to do with it then making it in to your media centre c is a great idea. this allows you to watch movies and play music from a separate pc so your main pc can focus on other tasks. in this post you’ll learn the software and hardware needed to make a media centre pc.

1st – software

1. Boxxe – http://www.boxee.tv/signup/?download=windows this is available on pc, mac linux 32 and 64 bit and apple tv. boxxe is my favourite media centre app and it allows all sorts of cool internet video such as Revision 3 and Youtube.

2. Handbreak – http://handbrake.fr/downloads.php this app is avilible on mac and pc in 32 and 64 bit. this program allows you to rip dvd’s to your hardrive so you can play them without the sound of your optical drive spinning up.

2nd – Hardware

1. a pc or laptop that is running xp , vista or 7.

2. a optical drive. the one that came with your computer will be fine.

3. a reasonable sized hardrive. anything over 150 gb will be fine but id recormend if you have alot of dvd’s then 500gb – 1.5tb.

4. atleast 512 megabytes of ram. you can check your ram by right clicking on my computer and then click properties and your ram will be under memory.

now rip all your favourite dvd’s to your hardrive. open up boxxe and put all your favourite dvd’s in to a play list and go. your media centre pc is now set up.

accessories could be a pc remote and maybe blu ray optical drive if you have blu rays but theese arnt necessary.

i would not use Photoshop without the brushes capability. i love using them for logos and pretty much anything i do. there are a number of services that offer free brushes but my favourite is easily http://www.brusheasy.com . you can find 1000s of free brushes and the brushes also work with gimp and paint.net. all brushes are categorised so you can easily find the brush you wish to work with. if you want to find more brushes then simply google free photoshop brushes.

Can We Trust E-Bay?

I decided to right this because i was recently on e-bay and i was browsing through computers and i found a brand new Sony vaio laptop for £2.99 :0. i was looking at the specs and there were about 10 in stock. at first i was interested in buying one of these products until i stopped to think how a band new sony vaio laptop could possibly be soled for £2.99. when i thought about it it became clear. i ether could of been stolen or fallen of the back of a lorry. if i had bought the laptop and it had been stolen my parents would of gone to jail for buying stolen goods. i clicked on the user and it confirmed my suspicions. a brand new Nintendo Wii for £2.99 and a 42” Toshiba TV for £2.99. it had obviously been stolen.

I’m not saying don’t use e-bay but just be carful because if your caught with stolen goods then you could be jailed for possessing stolen goods. there are allot of good deals to be found just don’t get caught out.
